Hello everyone. My name is Stephen Browder and I'm kicking off Heat Block Publications with my debut novel Every Ounce You Got To Give, which is available on Kindle Unlimited. I've been writing for 12 years now and wanted to take the time to learn the intricacies of this business before publishing because I'm someone who likes to produce literature my own way without anyone impeding my literary progress, for the purposes of marketing. I'm a fond believer in writing what you love and finding a way to market it afterwards. So that's my aim. I just want to be original and most importantly, I want to be remembered when it's all said and done as someone who creates timeless pieces that will entertain you as well as enlighten you.

About his book, Every Ounce You Got To Give

A Love To Die For

Similar to a hunting lion at the first signs of weakness, Saint Matthews, patiently stalks his prey. Callous and always calculated in his approach, this man wants nothing less than to devour you completely. But a cannibal, he is not. Saint much rather prefers that you do all of the dirty work yourself, prodded by tactful ploys and mental maneuvering on his behalf, designed to break your will and absolve your ability to fight him off before it was too late to save yourself.

Equipped with natural charisma and a thorough education in both the fields of psychology and sociology, this sadistic savant knows how to push the right buttons in you. But how will he respond once he finally has a face-to-face encounter with a person who has nothing to lose and enough fight in them to challenge him in ways that he could never imagine.

Meet Maryanette Beal aka M'Hogany

Picture

M'Hogany was born the middle child of 3 and is the 3rd oldest grandchild of 39. She is a singer, songwriter and arranger, aunt of 6, and former US Soldier. As a quiet child, she found solace in putting thoughts out on paper letting her creative mindset roam free.

“From kindergarten until high school, I was talked about heavily due to my skin complexion. I would hear, ‘You're a pretty black girl, don't let anyone else tell you that,’ though I never had a problem with my skin color. I would also hear kids call me black or ask why I was dark. My mother would say baby you're not black/dark brown you're mahogany, of which M'Hogany derived.”

Between the ages of 8 and 12, poetry was M’Hogany’s area of expression. Never writing anything down, she would create poems off the top of her head. During this time, her mother was approached with an offer to have her poetry published. She declined.

“At 12 years old, what child is interested in publishing poetry. I just did it because I could. And I was good at it. But it was my way of putting words together to express what adults wouldn't let children express in a conversation” says M’Hogany.

Little did she know that years later publishing would be presented to her once more.

“I had a vision at my grandmother's bedside during her ailment of my completed book being dedicated to her. Two weeks after that vision, October 6th, she passed.”

In the wake of her grandmother's passing, M'Hogany decided to incorporate her grandmother's legacy with her writing. Her grandmother was not only the first lady of her church, but she was the head musician.

“Singing or doing something musically was NOT an option, so I wanted to incorporate that in everything I write. You'll get to hear the emotion the characters encounter.”

In the church realm, her grandmother was well known for her singing and her teachings.

“I had to continue on this journey my granny knew I started. I was named after her because I look like her, so I feel I have to let her legacy live through me.”

M'Hogany has also contributed to the Literary Lounge magazine created by Tracie Holmes. Author M'Hogany Re-Released Sinful Secrets February 2015 and Sinful Secrets II is to drop nearing end of Summer 2015. If you haven't read Sinful Secrets, grab your copy quickly and get caught up in sin!

Why is the Black Lives Matter Movement important to you?

The BLM movement is important to me because I am Sandra Bland. Trayvon, Tamir and countless others are my brothers; we are each other. No one is exempt from the persecution and injustice being dished out no matter what caliber of life you are at. We must stand together and we must hold those accountable. If we don't stand for something we will fall for anything.

Why is the Black Lives Matter Movement important to you?

Black Lives Matter Movement is important to me because I am a Black woman. There are so many injustices of this world growing every day because of the prejudices that lie within. As a black race we need to stand up and continue the great works of the late Martin Luther King and Malcolm X, just to name a few. We need to see a change in law enforcement, our communities, and equal opportunity. Our justice system has failed the Black race. We will no longer keep our mouths shut and brush it under the rug. Change needs to happen and I stand by the movement.

Being one to love controversy, Onyxx has penned The Mistress Trilogy to shed light on the often misunderstood world of BDSM. Parts 1 & 2 are currently available and the finale should be forthcoming later this year.
Additionally, Onyxx has penned 2 standalone novels that are guaranteed to spice up your library.

Why is the Black Lives Matter Movement important to you?
The movement is important to me because as a woman of color and the mother of a man of color I feel it is important to recognize the gravity of the recent shift in universal forces. The society in which we live in has gotten progressively worse and it's view of Black people as a whole has degenerated to a point in which the lives of our people hold no value whatsoever and that needs to change and change soon as we are definitely on the brink of a mass extinction.

K.F. Johnson is a Queens, New York native residing in Atlanta, Georgia. As a child, she habitually failed to make curfew before the street lights lit. Consequently, she had plenty of time to hone her writing skills while on punishment and continued to develop her talent later while obtaining a B.A. in Psychology at Spelman College. In 2012, she published her first book for her social media friends and family to see. To her surprise, it went viral, repeatedly reaching #1 on Amazon's top 100 for its genre. With her new fan base cheering for more, this mother and wife has blossomed into a witty and cunning author, penning spicy, realistic and deadly tales of African American Romantic Suspense.

About her book, When I’m Bad, I’m Better

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and in this present-day drama, neither was the facade these four cousins expended a lifespan constructing.  They say good girls finish last…but when they're bad, they're better!
Valerie's just recovered from a career ending accident when her fiancé adds insult to injury by cheating on her with her closest relative. Devastated, angry, and now financially strapped, she’s ready to break all the rules...or is she?

Yasmin's a successful attorney whose failing marriage has left a void that only a side romance has been able to fill. When a crime unexpectedly turns her life upside down, decisions will have to be made...or they'll be made for her.

Vanessa's an aspiring singer who's tired of living in the shadow of her identical twin's success. She's not getting any younger, success doesn’t come cheap and fame costs!

Amina's a beautiful bombshell who uses what she’s got to get what she wants; but she’s harboring seedy secrets that are anything but pretty. As skeletons begin to resurface, she needs them dead and buried...before she is.

Why is the Black Lives Matter Movement important to you?

As a black woman, mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend of other black people, the Black Lives Matter Movement is important to me because we’re living in a society where murders are being justified by the color of the perpetrator’s skin. All lives SHOULD matter, but unfortunately, there have been stipulations placed on when black lives matter, and this is dangerous.

Meet C.L. Lowry

Picture

C.L Lowry is an award-winning novelist and short-story writer, with no bounds. Along with writing suspenseful novels for mature audiences, he blogs and speaks about current social issues in America. C.L. Lowry spent over eight years in law-enforcement and uses his experience and education to demand his readers’ attention with realistic scenarios throughout his stories. This was demonstrated in his debut book, The Black Badge: Confessions of Corruption (which won an award for best book under the Anthologies/Compilation’s category at the 2016 New York Book Festival).
C.L. Lowry was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with family roots that lead back to the beautiful island of Barbados, West Indies. He is also a graphic-designer and children’s author, writing under the name Chris McClean. His passion for teaching children about safety began in 2008 when he joined the Philadelphia Police Department. C.L. Lowry created the CrimeFighters: Defenders of Justice for children readers, giving them a group of diverse heroes that teach safety lessons. In 2012, Lowry left the Philadelphia Police Department to become the first and only African-American Police Officer in a small township in the Philadelphia suburbs. For years, he has worked with communities to end violence and is currently on a mission to help end police brutality.
If you have any questions, suggestions, complaints or want to volunteer as a beta reader and receive free advance-reading copies of new books, please email C.L. Lowry at [email protected]. For more information on C.L. Lowry and book release dates visit www.creedompublishing.com.

About his book, The Black Badge

Have you ever wondered what truly goes on behind the closed doors of police departments?
C.L. Lowry kicks those doors down in his stories and exposes the dirty secrets that most people are scared to speak about. In this shocking novel, C.L. Lowry takes us on a journey through the lives of eight corrupt Philadelphia Police Officers as they are confronted with endless temptations.
These officers all took an oath to protect and serve the citizens of Philadelphia, but they used their authority and power for all the wrong reasons. None of them started off with evil intent, but one by one, they all were eventually involved in criminal acts ranging from slinging drugs to cold blooded murder.
The Black Badge stories are disturbing, erotic, suspenseful and deeply moving. They shine light on the dark temptations that millions of people struggle with every day, not just police officers. Hang on to the edge of your seat, and your stomach, as you get to know these heroes turned villains and enter the world of police corruption.

What is the Black Lives Matter Movement important to you?
To me, Black Lives Matter means much more than just a phrase. It is a demand for change and a continuous fight for equality. What started as a movement that stood up against police brutality has brought awareness to many more issues that go on in black communities across America. As many people know, there has been a ton of resistance to the movement and luckily several ignorant/racist individuals have been exposed through comments they made against the movement on several social media platforms. Attention has also been brought to companies and organizations who have discriminating views against blacks. Black Lives Matter has given black people the opportunity to realize the importance of supporting each other in everything we do. It is important to focus on black children, so they understand the risks that our people still face on a daily basis. We are now connected with black leaders, businesses, artists and more. Black Lives Matters is a movement I stand by and support to the fullest.
