C.L Lowry is an award-winning novelist and short-story writer, with no bounds. Along with writing suspenseful novels for mature audiences, he blogs and speaks about current social issues in America. C.L. Lowry spent over eight years in law-enforcement and uses his experience and education to demand his readers’ attention with realistic scenarios throughout his stories. This was demonstrated in his debut book, The Black Badge: Confessions of Corruption (which won an award for best book under the Anthologies/Compilation’s category at the 2016 New York Book Festival).
C.L. Lowry was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with family roots that lead back to the beautiful island of Barbados, West Indies. He is also a graphic-designer and children’s author, writing under the name Chris McClean. His passion for teaching children about safety began in 2008 when he joined the Philadelphia Police Department. C.L. Lowry created the CrimeFighters: Defenders of Justice for children readers, giving them a group of diverse heroes that teach safety lessons. In 2012, Lowry left the Philadelphia Police Department to become the first and only African-American Police Officer in a small township in the Philadelphia suburbs. For years, he has worked with communities to end violence and is currently on a mission to help end police brutality. About his book, The Black Badge Have you ever wondered what truly goes on behind the closed doors of police departments? C.L. Lowry kicks those doors down in his stories and exposes the dirty secrets that most people are scared to speak about. In this shocking novel, C.L. Lowry takes us on a journey through the lives of eight corrupt Philadelphia Police Officers as they are confronted with endless temptations. These officers all took an oath to protect and serve the citizens of Philadelphia, but they used their authority and power for all the wrong reasons. None of them started off with evil intent, but one by one, they all were eventually involved in criminal acts ranging from slinging drugs to cold blooded murder. The Black Badge stories are disturbing, erotic, suspenseful and deeply moving. They shine light on the dark temptations that millions of people struggle with every day, not just police officers. Hang on to the edge of your seat, and your stomach, as you get to know these heroes turned villains and enter the world of police corruption. Website: WWW.CREEDOMPUBLISHING.COM What is the Black Lives Matter Movement important to you? To me, Black Lives Matter means much more than just a phrase. It is a demand for change and a continuous fight for equality. What started as a movement that stood up against police brutality has brought awareness to many more issues that go on in black communities across America. As many people know, there has been a ton of resistance to the movement and luckily several ignorant/racist individuals have been exposed through comments they made against the movement on several social media platforms. Attention has also been brought to companies and organizations who have discriminating views against blacks. Black Lives Matter has given black people the opportunity to realize the importance of supporting each other in everything we do. It is important to focus on black children, so they understand the risks that our people still face on a daily basis. We are now connected with black leaders, businesses, artists and more. Black Lives Matters is a movement I stand by and support to the fullest.
