Mommy....Mommy How as a mother can you see your child cry.....Hurting from not understanding why people pushed us aside....Looking for answers Mommy can't provide....As she tries to hide the hurt in her eyes.....Mommy, mommy why can't I lay in my own bed, watch tv or play with my games....eat the food that you used to cook......lay down when I am tired or just read my book......brush my teeth or even comb my hair.....take a hot shower before I go to bed......Mommy, mommy I just don't understand.....why are we sleeping in a room with so many fams.......Why do you mommy have a curfew....they make you do chores and clean up the room.....They tell you when to sleep and when to awake......Mommy, mommy what is this place......You lay in a bunk bed just like I do but that is not daddy laying next to you.....And how can you sleep with all that noise....the smell of scents too strong to ignore......Mommy, mommy can we get away....I am so sick of being in this place...#shelterlife Sunshyn is a woman who loves to express herself through her writings. She believes that she can't effectively write about something that she has not personally came across in her life. In her writing poetry or even in her fictional books, she wants to not only open up people's eyes to certain situations but their hearts too. UBAWA: When did you first realize your attraction to poetry? Sunshyn: I have to say it started when I was in middle school but for me it started through listening to the words in songs. I wanted to be able to express myself like the song writers did and have people feeling what I was feeling. UBAWA: Tell us about the very first poem you have ever written Sunshyn: The first poem I remember writing was called "A Rose." I was in middle school and I remember reading it to some of my friends. I would doodle here and there but never really considered myself as ever being a published author. UBAWA: Do you have a favorite poet? If so, who is he/she? Sunshyn: I could name so many of them....Girl Scott Heron, Maya Angelo, Nikki Giovanni, and Rumi are just a couple that I can name....all different styles all touch my heart one way or another. UBAWA: When you’re writing poetry, do you think in terms of genre? Sunshyn: No, when I am writing I never try to put myself in any category. I don't want to limit myself. UBAWA: Some people say writing poetry is like writing a rap or love song. Do you agree? Why/why not? Sunshyn: I agree because they are many ways of expressing. Writing a rap or love song is no different than writing poetry, you are just adding music to them. UBAWA: Are there certain styles/techniques/rules of poetry you adhere to in your writing? Tell us about your writing style. Sunshyn: I don't follow any rules or techniques when I am writing. My style is just that my style and I write how I am feeling that day. UBAWA: What poetry books have you written? Sunshyn: I have written two poetry books; Something So Beautiful and Chasing After You.....Chasing After Me. I am now working on my third book, #Shelterlife #90DaysIn UBAWA: Have you performed any of your poetry pieces on stage? If so, please share your experience(s) with us. Sunshyn: I was able to read one of my poems "God Did Not Create Me" at a church function. I have to admit I was a little nervous but they made me feel welcomed. UBAWA: What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of love? Sunshyn: Peace. UBAWA: Are you currently dating someone, married, or single? Sunshyn: I am currently single. UBAWA: Do you think success is a matter of chance or a matter of choice? Sunshyn: A little bit of both....if you don't choose to get yourself out there than the chance of you meeting people that can help you is very limited UBAWA: Inspiration for a new poem can come from the strangest places. What inspired you to write your most recent poem? Sunshyn: Living in a shelter. UBAWA: If you could go back and “right” any past wrong in your life, which one would it be and why? Sunshyn: I have thought about this a lot and I have to say there is nothing, not because I have not done any wrong but because of the lessons I learned from going through it. I would not be who I am becoming had I not did the things I have done. UBAWA: When you’re not writing, what are you doing? Sunshyn: Thinking, reading and listening to music. Oh and don't forget cooking. UBAWA: There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes of a poet’s life, fill us in on what one typical day for you is like. Sunshyn: A typical day for me.....when I had my own home, I would get my son off to school ( we would have prayer time before he would leave), get out what I was going to cook for dinner and if I did not have a doctor's appointment or any other thing to do outside of the house, I would be on my Facebook page and or Twitter, while writing poetry or my fictional book. I am not a phone person so most of the time the phone was off UBAWA: If you could create the “perfect day,” what would it be like? Sunshyn: A peaceful day where I could just write and listen to music on a porch in the country while the wind was gently blowing and the birds were singing softly UBAWA: What do you do on the weekends? Sunshyn: Rest, spend time with the kids and either watch movies or go out. UBAWA: Do you hang out or go to clubs? Sunshyn: Nay.....I prefer to be home UBAWA: If you could visit any other country in the world and take one other person with you, where would you go and who would you take? Sunshyne: I would love to go to Australia and if I could only take one other person with me I would take Sticky Fingaz with me......why.....I think he would keep things interesting and fun (hey don't judge my secret crush) UBAWA: Tell us about one challenge in life that you had to overcome. What was the challenge and how did you get through it? Sunshyn: Low self-esteem, watching people like Oprah and listening to others that have dealt with self esteem issues helped a lot. Plus praying and learning that God created me and I am beautifully and wonderfully made UBAWA: Before you leave, tell us one thing about yourself that we may not know. Sunshyn: That I am not only a survivor but a warrior too!!! UBAWA: Do you host contests or giveaways? Sunshyne: Never been asked but I would. UBAWA: Any upcoming events that we should know about? Sunshyne: Have some things brewing in 2014, will get back to you when they are definite. Facebook? www.facebook.com/sunshynpoet Twitter? sunshyn42

He is known to his fans as Poetic Farrar. He started his poetic journey in the year of 2003 just writing down things here and there but by the year of 2005, Darius began to take poetry seriously and used poetry as an escape route from the deaths of several loved ones and friends close to his heart. Being inspired poetically he found a way to deal with several different issues and discovered a pure talent within his self which ultimately lead to poetry once again being a mighty way of escape from the many thoughts of suicide and the previous lost family members he had not yet gotten over of. Darius is very passionate about his poetic craft more now than ever before. He feels like poetry is one of his many callings. He is inspired daily by everyday events that others may take for granted. He continues to successfully write poetry for every occasion including relationships, love, death, current events and even marriage and divorce. He has done several events including fashion shows and Christian programs showcasing his poetic skills. He has also started to venue into writing mini-series and short stores. Currently Darius resides in North Carolina and is writing his first book. UBAWA: When did you first realize your attraction to poetry? Darius: In the year 2003 when I discovered it as an outlet and expression for several different feelings I had. I was never the type to sit down and talk with people so when I realized this attraction to poetry I took heed to it very quickly. UBAWA: Tell us about the very first poem you have ever written Darius: The very first poem I wrote was poorly written. I had several different grammar errors. It was a poem titled "Suicidal Lifestyle" where it was explaining the thought process behind a suicidal person and why they would rather take that route instead of any other route. UBAWA: Do you have a favorite poet? If so, who is he/she? Darius: Yes, I have three of them. My all time favorite poet was a man by the name of Jupiter Hammon who was the first known African American to publish literature. He was a lifelong slave in Long Island, New York and published his first poem in 1760 on Christmas Day. Another favorite of mines is Paul Laurence Dunbar who was the first African American poet to garner national critical acclaim. Lastly, Etheridge Knight who didn't began writing poetry until he was incarcerated in 1960 and his first book, Poems From Prison, didn't come out until 1968. is a favorite of mines as well. UBAWA: When you’re writing poetry, do you think in terms of genre? Darius: No, I never think of a specific genre nor the terms of it until after I have finished writing and editing. Honestly, about 80% of the time I don't know what genre I really want to write until I start flowing and poetry starts leaking out of me onto paper and I'm reading it back. UBAWA: Some people say writing poetry is like writing a rap or love song. Do you agree? Why/why not? Darius: I do think there are several different similarities to writing love songs, writing raps and writing poetry but I think it is different because when you are writing a rap or a love song you have to have certain sections. But when you are writing poetry, depending on the specific genre you're writing, you can just free write and let it flow. UBAWA: Are there certain styles/techniques/rules of poetry you adhere to in your writing? Tell us about your writing style. Darius: I have a free type of writing style. I do not adhere to any rules or techniques, I just write from my heart. I have a saying of "If you cut my skin above paper, what you will find is passionate poetry spilling out my veins and applying wisdom, love and experience to your lives. UBAWA: What poetry books have you written? Darius: I am in the process of writing my very first poetry book. UBAWA: Have you performed any of your poetry pieces on stage? If so, please share your experience(s) with us. Darius: I have performed my poetry on several different stages. I love the stage! There is no other experience to me than to have the attention to speak life into a crowd of people in the form of poetry. UBAWA: What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of love? Darius: A lot of different thoughts and feelings comes to mind when I think of love but my first is always Jesus Christ. UBAWA: Are you currently dating someone, married, or single? Darius: I am currently dating someone! UBAWA: Do you think success is a matter of chance or a matter of choice? Darius: I personally think that success is a matter of choice. You have to choose to put in the work so that you may reap the benefits of success when the time comes. Success is produced from the sacrifice of choosing to put your thoughts into actions. UBAWA: Inspiration for a new poem can come from the strangest places. What inspired you to write your most recent poem? Darius: My most recent poem was inspired from a picture I seen that was posted on instagram and then that same picture was posted on facebook. UBAWA: If you could go back and “right” any past wrong in your life, which one would it be and why? Darius: I would have to say it would be when I broke the heart of my then girlfriend and now good friend. I would of went back and made it right. The way and manner I did it was beyond disrespectful and childish but then again i was a child. UBAWA: When you’re not writing, what are you doing? Darius: Reading books, drawing, listening to music, thinking of my poetry to write and eating. UBAWA: There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes of a poet’s life, fill us in on what one typical day for you is like. Darius: Depends on the type of day it is but a typical day would be me waking up around 7am or 8am. Getting my morning routine completed of shower, brushing teeth, etc. Then from there I usually take about 15 to 20 minutes to go on a walk and gather my thoughts and look at the beauty of Gods' creations. Then after arriving back home after that walk, I usually try to write some poetry, work on my book and get on facebook. In the afternoon, it's me helping my younger sisters with their homework if they need help, my eating and me writing more poetry and getting onto social media. UBAWA: If you could create the “perfect day,” what would it be like? Darius: The perfect day for me would be me sitting lake side with the woman of my dreams writing poetry and relaxing drinking hot sweet tea. UBAWA: What do you do on the weekends? Darius: On the weekends I usually write poetry and go to church. UBAWA: Do you hang out or go to clubs? Darius: I'm not really a club guy! That's not my scene. UBAWA: If you could visit any other country in the world and take one other person with you, where would you go and who would you take? Darius: I would go to Jakarta (which is Malaysia and Indonesia I believe) or I would go to Australia in the summer time. and I would want to take author Brittney LaKendra Holmes with me. UBAWA: Tell us about one challenge in life that you had to overcome. What was the challenge and how did you get through it? Darius: The death of my grandparents has been the greatest challenge I've faced in my 26 years on this earth. My grandfather passing away first then my grandmother passing away shortly after was the thoughest thing I've ever been through. I overcame that by God and poetry. UBAWA: Before you leave, tell us one thing about yourself that we may not know. Darius: One thing about myself that you may not know is that I have the ability to write anything that comes to my mind weather I have physically experienced it or not. UBAWA: Do you host contests or giveaways? Darius: No I do not host contests nor giveaways yet. But I will in the near future! UBAWA: Any upcoming events that we should know about? Darius: I will be releasing two books next year (2014). I will be releasing a novel titled "The Perfection of an Imperfect Christian" as well as my very first Book of Poetry. Seeking to find answers regarding the nightmares, issues of intimacy and trust, she turns to a “dream interpreter,” Dr. Westlene Adashay. Brenda is unable to overlook her own nightmares and memories and she is filled with guilt, fear and anger. Now Brenda must tell her daughter the heart-wrenching details of her father’s murder. Darryl grew up reading any and everything by Stephen King and sneaking to read his mom's Harlequin novels thereby learning the power of words and mental imagery from two very unlikely sources. In his adult years he was introduced to Zane, E. Lynn Harris, Eric Jerome Dickey and Michael Baisden and his mind was blown! They made mommas Harlequin novels look like a Nancy Drew Mystery and the truly erotic side of him was awakened. In high school while all of Darryl's friends were beating on the lunchroom tables with aspirations of becoming rappers he was writing rhymes for a completely different reason. He started writing poetry as a way to get people to overlook his stuttering and to get the attention of females. Darryl J. Johnson was encouraged to publish his poetry by a nosy yet well intentioned ex-girlfriend when he forgot to hide his rhyme book any curiosity got the better of her. Darryl writes mostly erotic short stories and poetry that delve into the depths of sex, love, lust and everything in between. He likes to tell people "I don't have a dirty mind, I have a sexy imagination." Recently he has begun experimenting with writing Sci-Fi/ Fantasy and has embarked on a journey of introspection because like Aristotle said "Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom." Darryl is also the author of Assassin No More, Confession of the Bishop's Wife, Beyond The Limit, Hallows Eve and a trilogy of erotic poetry - Mental Penetrayshun, Mindgazm and Climaxxx. Darryl is originally from Tampa, Florida currently living in Washington County, Georgia. Here, Darryl presents an erotic read with a unique ability to tell it how it is…and also to tell it like it could be in your wildest dreams and fantasies. Darryl crafts stories about everyone from the under sexed recent divorcee and the stud muffin paper boy to an adult version of the beloved 1960’s TV series “I Dream of Jeannie” By turns sexy and outrageous, Cunning Linguist is a pleasure from beginning to end. What readers are saying... This review is for: Confession Of The Bishop's Wife (Kindle Edition) This was a short but sexually explosive story. Had me in wow the entire time. Nice read. It's worth your time, that's for sure. Angelia Vernon Menchan is a wife, mother, nana, publisher, a write or die woman and owner of Honorable MENCHAN Media and MaMM Productions.
Angelia has published thirty full length novels and countless short story novellas. She has also published several authors whose voices would not otherwise have been heard. Her motto is, "There is no need to compete with others; blessings are specific for each individual..." About her book, “Soul Ties: Be Careful Who You Bed and Wed” Fletcher Mitchell stared out the window and was unable to accept that his wife, the woman he loved and married was getting out of a car with another man. Unable to move or react, he watched the guy walk around and open the door for her. Offering his hand, she took it and got out. He opened the gate for her but wasn't stupid enough to walk inside. He held his breath, praying she wouldn’t be dumb enough to allow him to kiss her in front of their home, but he wasn't sure because if she were bold enough to allow him to bring her home when her husband and children were inside, she might. It took everything in him not to go outside and confront them but his sons were inside. Thankfully, she simply flicked her fingers and strode up the sidewalk with the guy watching her until she got inside. Denisha jumped out of her skin when Fletcher stood up, turning on the light. The shock on her face quickly changed to a mocking look. The one she always got when she knew she was wrong and no longer cared. He knew she had not cared for a long time and tonight was the final proof. There was so much he wanted to say but he refused to utter a word. Making his way to the room where his twin sons slept, he sat in the recliner next to their beds. The words his mother had uttered two years earlier pounded in his head, “Son, be careful who you tie your soul to, everything that is good to you is not good for you and ripe fruit soon spoils.” Pain rocked through him because that is exactly what had occurred. He had tied his soul to her, allowing her to mother his children and his life was filled with rotten fruit. http://[email protected] What readers are saying... This book was an absolute pageturner! It was down to earth, gritty but most of all on point when it comes to soul ties. So many people are blinded by the lure and lust of relationships and don't for a second go beyond the surface emotions of the matter, only to find that once the shine has worn off they're stuck in something that they can't even find a way out of. Wait on God for your mate is the lesson. I loved the strong mother/father. They prayed! But what I loved more is that this fictionalized account showed how actual soul ties will capture you and keep you caring about someone who is no good for you. I pray it spreads the message loud and clear and that message is, stop letting a good figure or handsome man seduce you and if something seems to be too easy to get--be wary--VERY wary. An awesome job. I'd love to see a follow up! Linda Dominique Holland_Grosvener Monya Williams is a native of Jacksonville, Florida where she resides with her life partner Cindy Williams. David is an International Author who saw the need for freedom of religion and religious tolerance, equity, and justice for all. He believes it's a shame for humanity to be divided by her religion just as humanity was once divided by the color of her skin. He came to understand the basic truth. That is, man was persecuted for religious sake. Yet, the persecuted often becomes the persecutor. N.K was interviewed by Indies in Motion in Hollywood California, on 9th April 2012, a global radio station that features rising stars.
About his book, It is Time We truly Know Why Jesus Wept at the grave of Lazarus The book is a quest for why Jesus wept because of Lazarus. To find out what was so special about Lazarus. The answers found were more complicated than the quest, itself, so more explanations were sought. The story that was told by an unseen being was used to relate to the situations of life as it affects us today. Especially in this time of global unrest and wars, the future appears increasingly uncertain - with people projecting their fears onto others under the pretext of defending their religion or their religious way of life. Some even make hate speeches against the beliefs others hold dear. Developing nations are suffering; they face poverty, corruption, human right abuses, wars, and conflicts among others. However, within their grasp, there is a way out… if they can collectively will it. “With so many happenings that are difficult to understand or explain, I hope this book will be a starting point for all positive minded people i.e. those who have tried, and those still trying to create a more peaceful world, “ says N.K. The book is inspirational, motivational, and some can find it mystical. The book, above all, made a call for religious tolerance because it is truly time. What readers are saying.. I have read books and written reviews, Yes! But, This great work by N. K. David is a masterpiece that I can't stop reading or talking about. In this book, the author uncovered the heart of Jesus The Christ to bring us to the light that will illumine the dark areas of our lives and make the good parts brighter. The wisdom in this book transcends religion, race or creed. It is an apocalypse, containing the truth you have been seeking for long. The story in Chapter 2 touched me and am sure it will touch you too because in life, we go through tough times and come to a roadblock and give up not knowing that the roadblock is there to make us think and recognize that we have Genesis 1 vs 28 Operating System. It is loaded with logos and rhema that will give you the unction to function in greater capacity. I know you have heard or read it countless times "Jesus Wept", read this work by N. K. David with an open mind and you will buy more and give to your friends, colleagues and loved ones. This book will open yours eye to the greatest limitation of mankind.
