Darryl grew up reading any and everything by Stephen King and sneaking to read his mom's Harlequin novels thereby learning the power of words and mental imagery from two very unlikely sources. In his adult years he was introduced to Zane, E. Lynn Harris, Eric Jerome Dickey and Michael Baisden and his mind was blown! They made mommas Harlequin novels look like a Nancy Drew Mystery and the truly erotic side of him was awakened.
In high school while all of Darryl's friends were beating on the lunchroom tables with aspirations of becoming rappers he was writing rhymes for a completely different reason. He started writing poetry as a way to get people to overlook his stuttering and to get the attention of females. Darryl J. Johnson was encouraged to publish his poetry by a nosy yet well intentioned ex-girlfriend when he forgot to hide his rhyme book any curiosity got the better of her. Darryl writes mostly erotic short stories and poetry that delve into the depths of sex, love, lust and everything in between. He likes to tell people "I don't have a
dirty mind, I have a sexy imagination."
Recently he has begun experimenting with writing Sci-Fi/ Fantasy and has embarked on a journey of introspection because like Aristotle said "Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom."
Darryl is also the author of Assassin No More, Confession of the Bishop's Wife, Beyond The Limit, Hallows Eve and a trilogy of erotic poetry - Mental Penetrayshun, Mindgazm and Climaxxx.
Darryl is originally from Tampa, Florida currently living in Washington County, Georgia.
