BricyShay is a 31 year old author from Bimini Bahamas. BricyShay has a degree in Business Administration and a minor in journalism. In middle school BricyShay was very involved in the poetry club. The poetry club started her writing career off. In the 8th grade she was dared by one of her classmates to write a story involving her friends and their celebrate crush. From 8th grade strange through college BricyShay wrote books during class to pass the time. Writing isn’t a stranger to BricyShay family, her family hands are gifted when it comes to writing poems, songs, plays and books. BricyShay loves to read urban erotic tales as well. Her favorite book is G-Spot by Noire. BricyShay loves books that help people escape their daily drama. BricyShay goal is to take her readers on a journey without them having to buy a plane ticket. BricyShay has four published books: Mr. Officer, Diary of a Freak, What’s Love and Cursed. She’s currently working on What’s Love 2 and a few new pieces. Tamika Bain inspired BricyShay to give Boss Chic Empire a chance and for that she’s truly thankful because she would have still been writing for fun. Although she’s currently self published she’s glad that she gave the publishing company a chance. BricyShay hopes to inspire the younger generation of her community and help them to understand that amazing people come from a seven mile rock. She encourages her readers to never give up even when giving up same like the only option. She dedicates her writing career to her mother Linda L Ellis-Stuart who died June 8, 1995.

About her book

Luna, a care free teenager that wasn't looking for love, got slapped in the face with it by a playboy. As much as she tried to pull away from Xander, he kept pulling her in with his sweet lies. Luna opened up fully and allowed him in. She gave him a treasure that she felt she should keep, but he could get it. Xander carried her through hell, but she found heaven without him.

Xander, a teenager that saw how to play the field and took it as a football player. He wanted to love and desired love, but he couldn't see the love that was right in front of his face. Xander allowed his love for the wrong woman to hurt the right one.

Luna and Simone are best friends. They were like each other's shadow. Whatever one goes through the next surely will feel it.

Simone, a shy, insecure teen that allowed love to sweep her off of her feet. Falling for Kenzo gave Simone the confidence that she needed. She could open her eyes to see that she was the bombshell everyone said she is. Kenzo builds her heart, but he broke it as well. Kenzo was her first heartbreak, and it hurt, but it helped her find her own two feet. The heartbreak helped push her into a career she never thought about.

Kenzo, a young drug dealer on the come up that saw so much in Simone. He had everything but got greedy in the streets and allowed it to come to his front door.

Honey Thomas is a Chicago, Illinois native. She is an avid reader of urban fiction novels which inspired her to write her first book. The plethora of books, short stories and poems she has read throughout high school to the present day allowed her mind to escape into a world of fascination, mystery, realities and suspense. Being an author allows her to share her creative mind with the world in hopes of giving them the same escape she experienced. Honey has penned and published the 2 book series “Check Mate Bitch!, & Check Mate Bitch! Game Over.” As well as a stand-alone “CONFUSION.” Honey is currently working on her next novels.

About her book

I wish I may I wish I might I wish to be loved, no popular, no tall, no petite, no strong, no beautiful, no rich, maybe I should be more spiritual. I know, I wish I was all of these things like the women on social media and television.

Maxine Little was a wife, mother and entrepreneur. She was loved by many because of her beauty inside and out. However, she didn’t see herself in this way. She lived a fairytale life of perfection. Stuck in an unrealistic world of vanity and materialism. She cared deeply for her husband and children and wanted more than anything for them to reciprocate that love to her… which they did. Unfortunately, the love that was shown to Maxine was not enough for her, she felt it was mediocre at best.

Maxine looked at life through stain glass mirrors, missing her reflection and the realism of her world. She denied being associated with the turmoil of her family. She only saw green grass, blue skies and butterflies. This caused everything she was accustomed to, to fall apart.
This confusion Maxine adapted took her on a downward spiral of madness, broken hearts, criminality and the ultimate sacrifice of selling her soul to the underworld of jealousy.

Will Maxine open her eyes and heart in time to redirect her mentality to grasp self, or will she let this self-loath and shallowness overtake her and risk losing everything that life has to offer.

Find out as this story of CONFUSION unfolds!

Dr. Slaughter is a published author and veteran educator with 30 years in both the urban and suburban school systems. Dedicated to increasing literacy in young adults, she served the profession as an English teacher and learning specialist. A 1989 graduate of Cabrini University, Rachel worked as a writing specialist at the college as well. After earning two Fellowships and a distinguished track record of professional publications and presentations at regional and national conferences, she earned her doctoral degree in cognitive studies in reading at Widener University.

Her dissertation explores multicultural literature in private schools through the lens of Critical Pedagogy. Her new book, titled Turning the Page: The Ultimate Guide for Teachers to Multicultural Literature, will be published by Rowman and Littlefield in Spring, 2021.

Although Dr. Slaughter spends most of her professional time researching literacy and best practices, and writing, she enjoys leisure time with her husband of 29 years and two daughters. If there is any time left in her day, you can find Rachel with her nose in a good fiction multicultural book.

About her book

Daddy, REAd to Me (DREAM): The Virtual Abecedarium and Journal for Fathers and Sons is more than a book, it is a literacy experience between a father and son. The DREAM book provides fun activities that a father can do with his son while promoting reading. A father can become his son's “reading role model” by reading with him. It is true: A boy who has a father as a reading role model during his early literacy years is more likely to develop the behaviors of a literate person.
