Meet James Gordon

James Gordon better known as G.P.A.(Greatest Poet Alive) is an international award winning author and poet from Chicago. He is also a champion storyteller having won the Moth Story Slam six times, as well as two time Children's Author of the Year (DJ Gatsby Book Club and UBAWA). James can also be seen in the movies Persian Version, Animals, A Slice of Life, and Phish, and episodes of Empire, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Chicago Med, and Shameless. He also made an appearance on an episode of The Steve Harvey Show.

About his book, Angelica's Box

There comes a moment when it all makes sense because you change perspective. You encounter so many women that you understand that they are different, and you have to treat them differently. That sounds simple, but as a man, you don't get it right off. Not saying I do now, but my comprehension of the estrogen species has improved. These poems, of various forms and themes, stem from my interactions with women in all walks of my life. Do your best to be objective. After all, I'm a man.

Well THIS was an interesting read! I picked up a copy more because of the author name than the book. "Greatest Poet Alive" Just had to see! I used to write poetry myself. Wasn't any good (: but it was a nice release for me at the time.

I appreciate that the author is clear about their perspective (being a man) and that he's sharing his experiences (through poetry) have forced him to change the way he looks at things and, as a result, the way he acts.

The poet's confidence really shines in this work, which I think is necessary to carry the mood and tone. This is cleverly written and entirely satisfying, and enough that I plan to get a copy in print to keep around for guests, as I think they will find it entertaining in those lulls where I am catering to children instead of engaging them.

Highly recommended!

Keeping their identities a secret from the world, you would never think Cali's deadliest hustlers were women.

Sisters Sinaya and Blessing, better known on the streets as Sin & Beretta, are the definition of true bossettes. From drugs to murder for hire and everything in between, these deadly sisters have the game on lock.

Sin runs the city with a shoot first, ask questions never mentality. But, when a new player by the name of Ghost enters the game, can Sin keep dirt on those feelings that she thought died or will he turn out to be her blessing in disguise?

About her book, Dreams & Knightmares

Most people don’t believe in love at first sight… Neither did Dream until she met Knight. He came into her life at a time when she didn’t know she needed someone. Teaching her all there was to know about love & life. A fairy tale in the making or so she thought.

For people on the outside looking in Knight was not the dude in the shiny armor that Dream thought he was. He was your usual hood dude with no substance but, Dream knew better. Looking into his eyes were like looking into her own soul. They were one in the same.

Things weren’t always peaches and cream between the two. For every step forward, life sent them falling two steps back. Journey with Dream and Knightas they struggle to get it together and make it to the top.

Who wants a perfect love story anyway?

4.0 out of 5 starsAmazingly Great Read
ByLaTanya Garryon December 19, 2015
Format: Kindle Edition
Outside of a few editing issues. This was a unique, hilarious, and amazing story but it got serious at the end. Terrance knew he was trifling for what he pulled and how he did Sasha. Sasha should have known something was off about Jeffrey because he was showing signs that he was crazy and had stalker tendency. Trina knew she was a bitter mess, although she had a good reason to be angry. Sebastian was looking for something he had already had but screwed up. I'm glad he finally realized that and owned up to it. It's a shame what Raven went through. It shows that people have a tendency of wearing masks until the right situation present itself and they take off the mask and show their true colors.

This story did not turn out anyway that I had assumed it would. It was definitely filled with suspense but the ending was crazy!!! I just knew Symone had found the perfect match in Drue, after everything she had been through. He seemed to genuinely care for her & want to protect her. He held his secrets & psychotic ways in really good. Anjelo was just as crazy. Im sure they were plotting on Symone the entire time & the way she met Drue may not have been coincidence. I felt bad for India but her situation was the only way Symone found out the truth. I hope Anyaa is as genuine as she seems. The plan to move away was genious, but Drue has to have some type of help to keep finding Symone. You know the book is good when you are feeling all types of emotions for the characters. I was actually praying for the boys at the end of the book. Waiting on part two to see what happens with everyone & if Raj is too good to be true, like Drue was. Good job Author Olivia.--Amazon, Tammie S. (Five Stars) 4/18/16

Ibitola Ojoye-Adebayo is an author of best-selling books: ‘Acceptance’ & ‘Acceptance: Into the Darkness’ which are a series of fictional stories. She is a graduate of the University of Portsmouth with a BSc in Pharmacology. Her genre of writing is Contemporary Romance with a twist which is a portal into her mind and soul. Sparked with a passion for gothic horror, mystery and romance novels, her top writing influences include Virginia Andrews and Stephen King.

Ibitola won ‘The Author of the Year Award’ at the Divas of Colour Awards 2015. She was nominated for the Women 4 Africa Awards 2015, received a recognition award at BEFFTA Awards 2015, and won ‘Author of the Year’ at the C-HUB Creativity Awards 2015 and ‘Author of the Year’ at the African Women Rock Awards 2015 respectively. She also won Diaspora writer of the year 2016 and nominated in the Romance writer of the year 2016 Category at the Nigerian Writers Awards.

About her book, Acceptance

Set in London, UK – Acceptance is a family drama about love, loss and betrayal and is the first of a series. The novel shows the tragic consequences of secrets and lies and what happens when an ordinary girl is let down and pushed to extremes by the people she loves; her husband and family. The main plot is about Eva and her passionate relationship with husband, Richard, with a back story about her family history and her mother’s experiences in Nigeria during the Biafran war. As the story unfolds we discover that no one is quite what they seem and Eva gradually uncovers the truth about their deception with tragic consequences.

The Acceptance series is a powerful testimony of Love, Loss and Betrayal. The book speaks of a mother and daughter’s non-existent relationship, it speaks of how a loving marriage can go horribly wrong, it speaks to us of how the act of war can damage one’s soul, and it speaks of the reason why people migrate through no fault of their own. An average woman can relate to the main character of the book and see a part of herself in her and realize that she is a normal person who is capable of making mistakes, and overcoming the consequences of those mistakes, yet finding ultimate fulfillment at the end of the road.

This book will captivate you from beginning to end, with unexpected twists and emotional turns, and because its hard to put down, you could whip through this book within two days, especially if you take it on holiday with you. It may be a light read, but its a powerful insight into intense love and painful abuse. I look forward to the next book.
