*What led up to you becoming an author? I've been writing my thoughts on paper since the age 8, but I began writing poetry at the age of 12 when my father left and when back to our country. In 2009 I became unemployed and I wanted to do something productive. I found a couple of my poetry notebooks and decided that it was time to share my poetry with the world. The poetic lounge project came about from an idea Co-founder Author Charron Monaye and I decided on. We wanted to give all the poets a platform to showcase their poetry to the world and now we are also working with writers.
How long did it take you to complete your book? It took us about two months to complete "The Poetic Lounge" vol.1
*Is there a particular message in your books you would like for your readers to grasp? So far, I think we have provided our readers with poetry from life experiences and everyone loves real stories that could never be reproduced or duplicated.
*What is your biggest inspiration for writing? My biggest inspiration is my mother she stands for what she believes in.
*If you could give one piece of advice to an up and coming author, what would it be? My advice to any upcoming author is to always write only about what they know, this voids writers block.
*What do you have planned next? I plan to create more of “The poetic lounge” in volumes and continue showcasing more writers and poets.
*How can readers, publishers, and others in the literary community reach you?
