Tamika Warner-Edwards was born in Baton Rouge, LA where later she moved with her mother to Minnesota for a short time and for the rest of her childhood, she lived with her late grandmother Mrs Lizzie W Scott in Plaquemine Louisiana. It was under her grandmother's direct care that she was introduced to Christian living as she attended Little Zion Baptist Church # 1 under the Late Reverend, Thomas Bouvay. After leaving her grandmother’s home she began to stray, but in 2002 she rededicated her life back to Christ at the City of Refuge in White Castle under the leadership of Pastor Frank A. and Elect Lady Felisha Jones. In 2005 Tamika married Marvin Edwards, having four kids together Dayyon, Daytron (RIP), Malayiah, and Tristan Edwards. Being ordained as a minister by Apostle Clara Griffin, Overseer at Disciples on Call Ministry in Opelousas, LA, and now a member at Bread of Heaven Ministry in Baton Rouge La under the leadership Pastor Dondi and Co-Pastor Tina Lee. Tamika also obtained her GED and is currently enrolled in Baton Rouge Community College, Majoring in Business Administration.
About her book Wanting to help others through her testimony, that motivated Tamika to pen her debut novel, Through The Fire of Life as she describes all of what she has endured in her life. She gives readers an up, close and personal look dealing with emotions such as sin, failures, betrayals, loss, hurt, pain, and unforgiveness. Tamika mirrors her book and testimony around the scripture of Daniel 3 that details about having faith and strength.
