Meet CaTyra

CaTyra is the author of Professionalism, What's That, Dear August, Love August (a personal poetry compilation), Keep This In Mind: What Black Women Think About (a journal for Black women) and Editor Knows Best, a 101 guide for literary professionals/creatives interested in editing. She is also the CEO of Love for Words, an editing boutique for CEO authors.

She is the Creator/Hostess of Editor Knows Best, an international writing and editing podcast for literary professionals. She founded Writer's Paradise, a writing forum for authors and writers. She is also the founder of Mochachocolate, a trademark brand that celebrates, uplifts, and empowers dark skinned girls and women across the globe.

She is a Rochester Business Journal Forty Under 40 Honoree. CaTyra enjoys traveling, going to concerts, slam poetry, and going to the beach. 

About her book 

Dear August, Love August is a collection of emotional, thought-provoking, and humorous poetry, quotes, and monologues. You will get a glimpse into the spirit, heart, and mind of August Love. 

August Love is the type of person who loves spending time with friends one on one or small groups yet jumps at the opportunity to deliver a presentation or give a speech. She is socially selective but loves to network. She has zero tolerance for cliques, ass kissing, and phony people.  

She is a creative and innovate leader who occasionally reads her poems at open mics. She volunteers her time to create platforms for Black people. She is committed to black empowerment, black pride, black excellence, and black progress. 

August’s hobbies include traveling, patronizing and promoting Black businesses, and spending time with friends and family. 

This is August Love’s first publication but certainly not her last.
