Nai, born in New Mexico in 1987 to a single mother of three, found her passion for literature at an early age. She's always loved to read and by the age of 9 she was able to share her interest when she began teaching her church peers how to read. By middle school, she realized her true passion when she took to Language Arts and began her journey as a poet.
She enjoyed reading Shakespeare, with her most favorite being Romeo and Juliet. Finding her comfort in reading, she would go to the library and check out as many books as she could, using this as her escape whenever times got bad. Nai loved how the authors were so vivid with their words making her feel as though she was an actual character in the book. Wanting to spread this feeling, she started her own journey as a novelist. Now, at the age of 29, she has two published books with hopes of making readers feel the same as she did when she opened her first book.

"I just want to send a special thanks to UBAWA. It means a lot to me to have your support and assistance as an author. Y'all didn't know me from a can of paint yet you were willing to create awareness about me and my book. So I just want to say thanks so much!" --Kennedee Devoe, ‘Two Wrongs Don’t Make a Right…it Makes Us Even’
