What readers are saying about “Black People Can’t be Republican”
“Lewis leaps out of the box and pushes the limits of taboo conversations with these short stories. The thought provoking questions at the end of each story will force you to answer (or at least think) about the tough questions we never want to talk about in public: Homosexuality, Black Republicans, the use of the N-word and many more. You will be challenged by this read and every household should have these open and honest discussions on these controversial topics.”
UBAWA: Who did you write this book for?
James: For anyone with an open mind to "pro" and "con" arguments involving long-standing issues in the black community.
UBAWA: How did you come up with the idea for this book?
James: Debates I've heard over the years, but the true spark came from discussions in barbershops.
UBAWA: What do you want readers to take away from this book?
James: I'd love the reader to think outside the box and hopefully make him or her say, "hmmmm, that's actually a good point." Ultimately, I'd like to find solutions to problems that have festered for far too long.
