Un1que Salaam is an incarcerated author from Chicago, Illinois. He recently self-published his debut urban novel of a series, Trench Talk: A Chiraq Hood Tale.
Despite his circumstances, for years he’s had a strong yearning to reach back and help troubled youth avoid repeating the urban narrative. Thus, he wrote Trench Talk to use his voice to talk to them in a language they understand while simultaneously educating them throughout his book. He also started his own publishing company to not only publish his books, but to help upcoming and/or struggling, as well as established authors get their voices heard in the literary industry. His drive is amazing. After 20+ years dedicated to the street lifestyle, and 27 years of incarceration, he has let nearly nothing stop him. He went back to school and earned his high school diploma; he’s earned 2 paralegal diplomas; and a college degree—all while locked up and on his own drive. He now seeks to use his mind, skills, and drive to help others rather than harm them.

My name is Ashley Scott. I was born and raised in Sylvania Georgia. I became a published author for the first time in 2022 and have been writing since I was a junior in high school. Writing has just been an outlet for me as well as therapeutic for me. I now have 14 published books and more to come.
Melanie B. was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. As an avid reader at a young age, Melanie always looked forward to her escape into the world of fiction. Being able to submerge herself into the twisted tales of urban fiction has helped Melanie maneuver through the rough streets of New York, helped her push through college, and provided a much-needed calm over her life.
Hi, my name is Destiny Amor’. I was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have two beautiful kids and three bonus babies from my better half. I currently work full-time as a medical assistant and write in my spare time. I’m hoping to one day make writing books my full-time career. My mother passed away in July of 2017 and my life went downhill after that. I stopped caring about living altogether. I depleted my savings and just wanted to drink my days away. After my son helped me realize that I wasn’t okay I went and got some help. I would spend my time reading books to cope with my hurt. Reading helped stimulate my imagination; it took me away from my reality and into someone else’s. I can open a book and block out everything and everyone around me. It’s like a balm to my soul and I hope that one day my books can do the same for others.
