Who is your target audience? What group of people would you like for your book to reach? : My target audience is the urban crowd who likes the melodramatic element of fiction and who doesn't want to be clamped down with so much characterization. I want my books to reach the readers that want quality and substance over shock value.
What inspired you to become an author and write this book? Who/What is your biggest influence? : I have had a passion for writing since I was an adolescent and I always greatly preferred the creative writing process over the factual writing process. There's always been something about creating a story from scratch that captivates me. It takes lots of brainpower to write fiction. My biggest influence is life itself and my experiences.
When did you know you wanted to become a writer?: It started in high school. I just hadn't honed my skills yet so I waited until I was ready.
Is there a specific message in your book you want your readers to grasp?: I do not have a specific message but readers can expect to have things to think about. I have noticed that it is easy to grasp the theme(s) of my work but I really just try to go outside the box a bit o if I do write something not all that unique to readers, I have my own way of delivering the novel instead of copying another author.
How long have you been writing? What genre do you write? : I have been writing on a serious level for six years. I write urban/hip-hop lit but I feel I incorporate other elements to shake things up a bit.
How has your family/friends supported your new and upcoming book? : My new title is under wraps somewhat. I know my family and friends want to see me succeed. I am no longer worried that any family is trying to discourage me from doing this, which I am die-hard passionate about.
What’s next?: My second novel is coming. I hope that all goes according to plan and that I become an important name in the industry. I love what I do even though the money is scarce but that's not the mindset to have from the start.
How can readers/listeners get in contact with you?: They can e-mail me at [email protected]. They can also check out my BlogSpot. The link is http://nsugezblogs.blogspot.com. To have a peak at my titles visit http://stores.lulu.com/NSUgezene.
