Who is your target audience? What group of people would you like for your book to reach? : My target is audience is composed of poetry lovers, admirers of sensual poetry, and if narrowed down further, African Americans that fit into that above group. But I believe, and it has been shown thus far, that The Book of 24 Orgasms can reach everyone: young or old, male or female, etc.
What inspired you to become an author and write this book? Who/What is your biggest influence? : Being incarcerated inspired me to finally become an author. It was an period in my life when i wasn't running and could finally collect my thoughts and put them down. I was inspired to write The Book of 24 Orgasms by women who seem to be lonely or lacking someone of substance in their existence,so i wrote this as a comfort guide or tool to aid them through these times. My biggest influence in writing is Langston Hughes because his brevity in conveying his message was astounding. I have tried to emulate that. Moreover, women, beautiful women are the biggest influence on my sensual work.
When did you know you wanted to become a writer?: I knew i wanted to be a writer when my Dad told me to keep a pad and pen with me all the time. I was ten. Thanks Dad.
Is there a specific message in your book you want your readers to grasp?: The message I would like readers to grasp from The Book of 24 Orgasms is simply that sex is a great thing, but it begins in the mind, early in the day, and when a person is not around the other person. If people go back to courting, conversations with actual voices, then there will be happier relationships.
How long have you been writing? What genre do you write? : I have been writing seriously since 2007 and I write poetry.
How has your family/friends supported your new and upcoming book? : My family, friends, and supporters all over have gotten behind my book tremendously. Whether it has been the purchase of, promoting of, or helping sell, my people have been very helpful with The Book of 24 Orgasms
What’s next?: Because I live in Chicago,my book tour has been online by appearing on Blog Talk Radio Shows. In March, I will be attending the Word on Da Street book Fair in Atlanta. Also, in March, I begin work on my cd, The Sounds of Orgasm.
