Meet Kym Oglesby (Philadelphia, PennsylvaniA)

Kymyetta Oglesby worked in the hotel industry for over twenty years in management and as a consultant. She was involved in renovation projects and hotel buildings after natural disasters, and she had a budget of over two million dollars. This experience helped her write her book Unlock the Secrets of Modern Marketing: A Guide for Small Businesses: Marketing Strategy Workbook & Planner. Kymyetta has over fifteen years of experience in public relations, events, and marketing, working with high-profile clients for her company Beach Girls Public Relations and Marketing. Her agency also assists various nonprofits in raising funds for causes such as the arts, youth programs, college scholarships, breast cancer research, and Alzheimer’s with donations, grants, and scholarships in the millions of dollars. In addition, she publishes a magazine, Literacy Moments Magazine which highlights indie BIPOC authors from around the county.

Kymyetta is a Philadelphia native who served in the Army Reserve as a chemical operations specialist. She holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Communication with a concentration in Public Relations, and an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources. She is currently working on a Ph. D in Educational Leadership.

Active in her community, Kymyetta is the Founder/Executive Director of Just For Us Girls. Just for Us Girls (JFUG) is a nonprofit organization that empowers girls of all ages through educational resources, tools, and support to become a leader of tomorrow in an industry she desires. Whether she is attending college and/or moving in the career path after graduation, we offer programs and activities that focus on empowering and educating girls in 7 key areas. During her free time, she mentors youth and teaches computer skills to senior citizens in the community.
