Meet Un1que Salaam (CALIFORNIA)

Picture
Un1que Salaam is an incarcerated author from Chicago, Illinois. He recently self-published his debut urban novel of a series, Trench Talk: A Chiraq Hood Tale.
Despite his circumstances, for years he’s had a strong yearning to reach back and help troubled youth avoid repeating the urban narrative. Thus, he wrote Trench Talk to use his voice to talk to them in a language they understand while simultaneously educating them throughout his book.
He also started his own publishing company to not only publish his books, but to help upcoming and/or struggling, as well as established authors get their voices heard in the literary industry. His drive is amazing. After 20+ years dedicated to the street lifestyle, and 27 years of incarceration, he has let nearly nothing stop him. He went back to school and earned his high school diploma; he’s earned 2 paralegal diplomas; and a college degree—all while locked up and on his own drive. He now seeks to use his mind, skills, and drive to help others rather than harm them.

Hi, my name is Destiny Amor’. I was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have two beautiful kids and three bonus babies from my better half. I currently work full-time as a medical assistant and write in my spare time. I’m hoping to one day make writing books my full-time career. My mother passed away in July of 2017 and my life went downhill after that. I stopped caring about living altogether. I depleted my savings and just wanted to drink my days away. After my son helped me realize that I wasn’t okay I went and got some help. I would spend my time reading books to cope with my hurt. Reading helped stimulate my imagination; it took me away from my reality and into someone else’s. I can open a book and block out everything and everyone around me. It’s like a balm to my soul and I hope that one day my books can do the same for others.

Tatiana Sanon, a 37-year-old author, mother, and publisher hailing from Queens, New York, has navigated a remarkable path in the literary world. Armed with a Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science from Mercy College and a Master's of Science in Special Education from Touro College, Tatiana's passion for reading and writing ignited early on. Introduced to Urban Fiction through authors like Terri Woods and Nikki Turner, she found inspiration that led to weekly book hunts on Jamaica Avenue.

Although initially delaying her writing aspirations to prioritize education, Tatiana reignited her literary journey after graduating college in 2018. This resurgence marked the birth of her first series, "Karma Before Konscious," which underwent transformation to become the compelling narrative it is today. Balancing roles as a mother, student, and teacher, Tatiana, known as Queen T, has authored 19 novels, with numerous releases planned for the upcoming year.

Shaquoya found a love of reading and writing at a young age. But it wasn't until she was in a domestic violence marriage that she indulged deeper into the urban fiction literary world. Through her love of reading she developed the craft of writing her first novel, A Fool for You (loosely based on a true story). She is an indie author, a mother of two beautiful girls, and a serial entrepreneur. Shaquoya has recently published her 7th novel, "Justice: A BLM Novella," and is working on her next novel, "Lux & Luscious: A Toxic Love Affair."
