The movement is important to me for several reasons. First, as an African American with brothers and sisters, cousins and nephews whose skin color is the same as mine, I can’t help but to support a cause that brings awareness to the atrocities that affect my people. Secondly, the movement’s focus is not only to bring awareness, but to be a voice to so many who are scared and those who have been personally affected by the results of the prejudice in our nation. I stand with the movement Black Lives Matter!
