​AUTHOR OF THE DAY: Yasheca is a native of Troy, New York, but has also lived in Albany, NY, Schenectady, NY and Washington, D.C. Yasheca has loved to read all genres of books and write poetry since attending Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School as a young child. As a teenager attending Doyle Middle School in Troy, New York, is where she began writing poetry and song lyrics inspired by the street flow and lyrics of Rhythm and Blues and Hip Hop music.
